Frequently asked questions
Q: Do I need to be a Base member or physio patient to become a member? A: Not at all! While our memberships complement physiotherapy well, they are open to everyone in North Lakes and surrounds.
Q: How do I sign up for a membership? A: We aim for a seamless, automated experience. Sign-up will primarily be online through our website. You’ll complete an online induction and waiver as part of this process. You can also contact us at info@aboundphysio.com or visit us at our North Lakes clinic for assistance.
Q: What are the commitment periods and what happens when my initial term ends? A: All memberships are billed fortnightly via Stripe and are ongoing, meaning they will continue at the same price after any initial minimum term until you actively cancel according to the notice period.
Q: Can I put my membership on hold or suspend it? A: Our standard terms focus on ongoing memberships. For specific circumstances regarding holds, please discuss with our team.
Q: What is your cancellation policy? A:
Rolling Monthly memberships: Can be cancelled with 7 days’ written notice before your next fortnightly billing cycle.
3-Month & 12-Month commitment memberships: If you need to cancel before the end of your agreed term, an early termination fee equal to 50% of the remaining term balance will apply.
Q: What is your refund policy? A: Memberships are generally non-refundable for unused portions or missed recovery sessions. If you need to cancel due to medical reasons, a pro-rated refund may be considered upon provision of a doctor’s certificate. The one-time induction fee for casual recovery users is non-refundable once processed.
Q: What are the access hours for members? A: Abound Physio offers 4am – 10pm access to both our gym (for Gym Only and Premium members) and our recovery facilities (for Recovery Only and Premium members, subject to booking).
Q: Do I need to book for recovery equipment? A: Yes, our recovery services (Infrared Sauna, Normatec Compression) are bookable 24/7 to ensure availability. Bookings are made via the links provided once you subscribe. We recommend saving these links to your phone’s home screen for easy access.
Q: What should I bring with me? A:
Gym: Workout attire, appropriate closed-toe athletic shoes, water bottle, towel.
Recovery (Sauna): Towel to sit on, towel for drying, swimwear/comfortable loose clothing (optional), water bottle.

Q: Are there busy or quiet times for the gym? A: While we offer access from 4am – 10pm, please note that Base Training Centre members also have access to the gym area during their peak class times (typically 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM on weekdays and Saturday mornings). Our paid Abound Physio gym memberships are capped to help ensure a quality experience and avoid overcrowding during other periods.
Q: Is an induction required before I can use the facilities? A: Yes, all members must complete an online induction and sign a waiver before their first use of the gym or recovery facilities. This is to ensure you understand how to use everything safely and are aware of our guidelines, especially as access is generally unsupervised.
Q: Are the gym and recovery areas supervised? A: Access to our gym and recovery areas is generally unsupervised. This model allows us to offer a high degree of accessibility and competitive pricing. Comprehensive safety guidelines and equipment usage instructions are provided during your mandatory online induction and are also located around the equipment.
Q: Can I share my access code? A: No. Members receive unique access codes for entry. Sharing your access code is strictly prohibited for security and safety reasons and may result in the termination of your membership without refund.
Q: What are my responsibilities for cleaning equipment? A: Members are required to wipe down gym equipment after use and to clean and reset recovery equipment (e.g., wipe down sauna, reset Normatec units) as per the provided guidelines.
